Cheer for the Cure was a great success!

Congrats to all members of the Varsity Team!

Your hard work and dedication to the team paid off on Saturday. What a great performance! Let's keep up the focus in the new year!

Thanks to all who came out and supported the team as well. It was great to have our own "cheerleaders" in the crowd!

There will be a practice on Tuesday for both teams and a final holiday assembly run through on Thursday at 3 in the theatre.

See you all soon!

VERY IMPORTANT MESSAGE!

Hello Varsity and Junior Varsity Members...

Sorry for the late notice!

One of the coach's of the girls field hockey team approached me today about having the cheerleaders come out to cheer at the beginning of the tournament TOMORROW (Wednesday). They've just found out that our school is hosting the tournament.

Members of both teams will be signed out at 2 p.m. Please meet, quietly, outside of the fitness room. Wear the same clothing you wore to Thursday Night Lights, if possible. We will be cheering from 2 - 2:45 only. You are more than welcome to stay and watch the games after, if you wish.

If you cannot come out of class (for example, if you've got a test or presentation due) that's ok! If it's not possible tomorrow, you're more than welcome to join us during the next event.

Thanks!

We're off to a great start!

Congratulations to both the Varsity and Junior Varsity Cheerleading Squads for a great show at Thursday Night Lights! The team has received many compliments on our performances!

The year is off to a great start! Keep up the great work!

Fundraising Update:
  • Caramel Apple Sales start next week! Please check to see what day you've signed up to take orders in the cafeteria!
  • McMillan Orders are due on Thursday, October 29th! Remember, fundraising is optional for Junior Varsity team members. It is mandatory for all Varsity members.

Junior Varsity Members:

Your input is needed! If you've got an idea on how we can help spread school spirit at Richardson, please come and see Ms. Forbes! All suggestions are welcome! We've got some exciting events planned for this year but we need your help to think of more ways we can be seen (and heard!) at school. This is the first year we've had this great opportunity to have two teams and we want to make sure we're involved in as many events as possible!

Varsity Members:

You are all doing really well with stunting and the routine. You are all working very hard and it's greatly appreciated by your coach and captains. Keep up the great work and positive attitude.

A few reminders:

  • Money for uniform ordering ($65) is due by Tuesday, October 20 at practice. We have to order these by next week if we want them in time for Cheer for the Cure in December. We'll be getting measured on Tuesday, October 20th and Thursday, October 22nd, at practice.
  • Regular attendance is a MUST. If you cannot make a practice, you MUST come to see Ms. Forbes ahead of time. Irregular attendance makes practice very hard and it's extremely important for everyone to be present.
  • Cheer for the Cure is Saturday, December 12th in Oshawa! Keep that date marked on your calendars!
  • There will be morning practice on Friday, October 16th @ 7:00 a.m. sharp (to make up for Tuesday's missed practice).

Happy Cheering!
